The Miraculous Legend of 1840
How Lord Krishna manifested as Sanwaliya Seth in the sacred Mewar region of Rajasthan.
In the year 1840 AD (Vikram Samvat 1897), in the peaceful village of Chapar near Bhadsoda, a humble milkman named Bholaram Gurjar had a recurring divine dream. Lord Krishna appeared to him, revealing that three sacred black stone (*shyam varna*) idols were buried beneath an ancient banyan tree.
When the villagers excavated the indicated site under the guidance of the local elders, they were astonished to unearth three exquisitely carved stone idols of Lord Krishna with enchanting smiles and lotus eyes.
The largest and most magnificent idol was reverently brought to Mandphiya and enshrined in what is today the world-renowned Shri Sanwaliya Seth Mandir. The second idol was established at Bhadsoda, and the third remained at Chapar / Bagund.
"Lord Sanwaliya Seth is revered as the divine business partner (*Sajhedar*) who blesses honest trade, protects devotees from misfortunes, and turns faith into prosperity."
